Surround Center-sound out of wrong speaker

The problem I see is that you've spent a large sum on a nice receiver only to play stereo through it. TVs don't passthrough PCM well. It's taking what audio it gets and outputting stereo to the receiver.

I can't tell you why Plex doesn't have the problem. What are your audio settings in MrMC?

Anyway, if you turn on CEC for all devices just clicking a button on the apple tv remote should wake up the receiver and the TV if you go apple tv > receiver > TV. Then you get nice things like Atmos

I've seen problems with audio passthrough my C8. But maybe you're right about multichannel PCM and eARC capability. ARC can only take stereo PCM but eARC can take multichannel? The question is will the TV actually pass that through or just convert it to stereo?

No thats not the question. My C9 pass multichannel through to the AV Receiver without any problems. Even Atmos from the Apple TV 4k is no problem. Everything works fine with iTunes movies, Plex and Infuse but not with MrMc.

Exactly. I can stream stuff from the ATV 4K from You Tube, Infuse, VLC and everything works fine. I can even stream surround from Mr MC and it is all fine untill someone speaks then the audio comes from the left rear speaker instead of the center speaker.

Yes exactly but instead some people here prefer to discuss how stupid it is connecting an Apple TV to a TV instead of directly to an AV receiver. It's pretty frustrating.

I have now installed Infuse 6 Pro and everything works fine. I have now uninstalled MrMc.

I used VLC last night to stream Planet Earth II and it was doing some type of transcoding and looked rubbish.

Infuse has a stuttering so it is painful to watch.

I've just added the ability to feed the LPCM track directly into my audio chain (Apple TV->Lumagen Radiance ->Meridian HD621->Meridian G68->DSP Speakers), and now see a similar result. Everything plays well *except* that the center/dialogue channel output is being played through the front right speaker.

The ATV is set to best match. If I set it to DD5.1 then dialogue plays through the centre speaker. Other apps (e.g. the Apple TV app) play the center channel correctly.

I've just downloaded Infuse 6 Pro on a week trial, and it plays the same mkvs correctly, with dialogue coming from the center speaker.

I'm not sure what other tests / debug I could provide, but it sure looks like a bug in MrMC.
