Is the local database being populated?

Post by theRCRH »

Is this integration with Plex populating the MrMC database from plex or is that a constant connection to Plex? I was using the PlextoKodi plugin and found that pages of shows loaded really slowly until I used the path substitution and fully populated the local database.

Plex Client is separate from the internal sqlite or external mysql databases. Plex already maintains it's own database, seemed silly (and hard) to try and mix them.

That makes sense. I'm just surprised by how fast the plex info is in MrMC.
Using the PKC addon in Kodi or SPMC is horrendous. The only acceptable way I found was to have the addon write to the local database.
Nicely done.

Thanks, it helps to have a dog slow network connection to the outside world :) I'm the best test case for slow connections to remote servers :) hahaa.

We are not done yet, this pass is the 1st of many that will eventually move internal sqlite/external mysql into the newly created MediaServices subsection that will give order and structure to the code chaos regarding databases. Adding other Media Clients like Emby is much, much easer now.
