1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back

Re: Add ons
Only the internal binary addons. No python based addons will work, python is gone.Hammy34 wrote:Ok I know no third party add ons I get that. But are there any add ons that are supported other than the live to clients.

Re: Add ons
Not sure how to make this any clearer.
No python addons are supported, user installed or otherwise. There is no way to get them to work either, python is gone.
Some functionality has been moved to core, for example external subtitle fetch and add. This was a python addon, it was added to core as c++ code. Others might be, depending on what they do and demand.

Re: Add ons
I think it just comes down to an understanding of basic development or a little programming lol.davilla wrote:Not sure how to make this any clearer.
I'm just guessing, but I think what happens sometimes is like when I talk to my wife about programming or scripting, her eyes just gloss over and for all she knows I'm talking about dinosaurs. Like when you say "added to core" there's going to be some people that won't understand you took something that was developed externally but could be used inside the program (an addon) and then added inside the application as something that will always be there (added to core).
Anything that's an addon needs to be redone to work inside MrMC and I'm guessing they already have a huge backlog of these they want to do. If there's something specific you want just ask. They're really responsive to suggestions on improvements.Hammy34 wrote:
