Playlist stops playing on newest update

AppleTV updated, MRMC updated to 3.9.9 I believe. After the update, video playlists stop playing and hang at the end of the first file. Tried multiple playlists of very different files, so the video files are not to blame. Any idea what is going on?

I dont see that any playlist was playing or that any playback was hanging, did you play anything before uploading the log?

This is what I did:

Opened MrMC
Enabled Debug logging
Played video playlist
MrMC hung at the end of the first file, unresponsive to any controls
Had to back out to AppleTV menu (double tapping 'tv' button on appleTV remote)
Reopened MrMC, seems to have completely crashed
Uploaded log.

I'm assuming that MrMC crashing stopped the logging?

I see you played "The Big Bang Theory s04e04 - The Hot Troll Deviation.mp4" , no playlist

try again if you can, maybe see if you can pull the debuglog using "Mrmc 3.8.1 and lower" instructions... you pull it using the webui and it might have access to it even when its hanging

My apologies - the previous log was from simply hitting 'play' on a tv show and loading the entire show into the 'now playing' playlist. However, the same thing happens when playing a saved playlist.

It looks like it tries to load the second file, but never does. First file played was "s05e06 - The Rhinitis Revelation.mp4" which ends at 14:46 in the logs, and the second is "s09e05 - the Perspiration Implementation.mp4"

I see no errors no issues there, difficult to fix if I can’t reproduce here

Does changing skin make any difference? Try Ariana and play the same playlist

I’m having the same issue. I will normally go to all seasons of a tv show then hit play on the remote and let it run while I sleep. After the 3.9.9 update I can no longer hit play to start an episode. I have to click on the episode, then click play on the menu, then once the episode is finished it hangs on a black screen and won’t go to the next episode. I’ve tried all skins and they have the same behavior.

@Mikron2, that's exactly how I use it too.

@amet - changing skin had no effect. Still plays one file and crashes at the end of it.
