Being a noob to Kodi, but reading all the hype, I purchased MrMC for the ATV4.
I'm also a tester for Infuse and NAStify.
One suggestion I have for a future update is to make the SMB connection process simpler when a resource needs a username/password. My situation serves as an example. I went to add my Synology NAS as an SMB connection. It found the NAS, but when I clicked it - the "working" wheel spun for a moment, then got an error that the operation was not permitted. So I went to add the NAS as a "network item" (or whatever it's called) so selected SMB and hit browse. Once again it found the NAS, but when I clicked it - got the same error that the operation was not permitted. Only after I manually entered the NAS name, folder path and username and password did it connect right away. From there I was able to set everything up.
But it shouldn't be that difficult. Infuse, NAStify, and VideoOne all found my NAS server as SMB with no prompting on my part (besides telling it to scan for servers), and when I clicked the name, they pop up a username/password box and I'm on my way. At the least if MrMC needs a username/password, it should tell the user that in the error message - not pop up some generic "operation not permitted" error.

Re: SMB server (NAS) setup
Hi,
I am using MrMc release 1.0.1 Git:2015-12-01-432227c and my video are stored on a NAS Synology.
I am also using SMB to connect to my NAS.
I need a SMB username/password for write/delete feature, because it seems MrMC is default logged as a Guest, with only read authorization (write and delete is prohibited per default on my NAS).
As an exemple, I cannot export the xml library to my NAS (cannot have write access).
So Where is the username/password setup for SMB connectivity to my NAS ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: SMB server (NAS) setup
instead of using "Windows Network (smb)" to browse for your share use "Add network location..." that will allow you to add server(or even browse for it) and you can enter user name and password in it.
