I know this is premature but I just wanted to add a few suggestions for you to consider when planning a new skin in the future. Honestly this is probably going to be a bit of an annoying thread as skins are such a personal thing, different people will want different things, but I do think these suggestions are probably going to useful to most (the first couple anyway).
These suggestions can be seen in the following image from the Aeon MQ5 skin which I currently use on my other box:
1. Display more recently added items. This is really big for me as when I turn on my TV/MrMC I want to see instantly exactly what's available, and it makes it so much easier to just select and start playing something (rather than dig into the main TV or Movie menus and scroll around). Aeon manages to squeeze on 12 items with no scrolling, which is great.
2. As well as recently added, have an "In Progress" toggle as well. Aeon is quite smart about this and always shows an in progress item at the start of the recently added list so you can have the best of both worlds, but you can also change from Recently Added to only show In Progress items, which is what I tend to do as more often than not I'm continuing on a TV show I've started and just want to watch the next episode.
3. Random movie/tv fanart as the backdrop (movies for the movie section, TV for the TV section). Have it change every 30 seconds or so to choose a random piece of fanart from your collection. Not actually sure if this is possible with MrMC though?
EDIT: One other thing I've just noticed which would increase usability is to remove items from the recently added widget once they've been watched.
