Code: Select all

curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"Input.ShowCodec","id":1}' http://192.168.2.44:8080/jsonrpc
Needs to be run from terminal on OS X/Linux or putty on windows ... using your firetv IP address

That should bring codec overlay showing what audio/video buffers are doing
can you explain more how to use putty to do this? do we log on to the device via SSH or something?

TBH no idea, I use OS X and terminal for that and it's just a copy/paste of that command in terminal window(using the correct IP address)

Maybe @davilla knows as he has to use Windows machine :))

well, good news is I found a way to use the command - Using the command line of my pfsense router. It works from that, but not from windows. Best I can tell the windows version "works". I can curl web sites and get html in return. :?

There would be no output from a command, but on MrMC there would be a new overlay/information while video is playing.

2 things to remember, you have to use correct IP address for your MrMC box and it only works while video is playing.

Ah ok- I will try that. I did change the IP address to my FireTV but was expecting to see the output on my computer. I will try it again.

I tried it again, but it didn't pop up anything on the screen. I have included a new pastebin though just in case.
