1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back

TBH no idea, I use OS X and terminal for that and it's just a copy/paste of that command in terminal window(using the correct IP address)
Maybe @davilla knows as he has to use Windows machine

Re: App Crash while DVBViewer since 3.0.1
well, good news is I found a way to use the command - Using the command line of my pfsense router.
It works from that, but not from windows. Best I can tell the windows version "works". I can curl web sites and get html in return.

I am not getting any output from the command in terminal. Any other suggestion or logging I can provide?

Re: App Crash while DVBViewer since 3.0.1
There would be no output from a command, but on MrMC there would be a new overlay/information while video is playing.
2 things to remember, you have to use correct IP address for your MrMC box and it only works while video is playing.

Ah ok- I will try that. I did change the IP address to my FireTV but was expecting to see the output on my computer. I will try it again.

I tried it again, but it didn't pop up anything on the screen. I have included a new pastebin though just in case.
