in settings -> system -> logging

enabled the libcurl and FFMpeg components and replicate the issue so we can get more logging on it.

thx.

thanks.

when you say 'crashes', is this a real crash, back to fireOS home. Or hangs. Be very descriptive please.

It does not crash back to FireOS Home. It hangs. What happens is this:

Tap on TV and select a channel
It will show buffering 0:01 and not tune into the channel
It is possible to back out to the MRMC home screen
When click "stop" in the mini control menu on the MRMC home screen the app will hang
Go into FireOS settings and force stop and relaunch app to get it up and running again.

Hope that helps.

how long have you waited for playback to start ? Trying to figure out if it was the buffering size change or something else.

I have waited upwards of 30 seconds if not slightly longer. I just ran a test where I waited a full minute

hanging in black screen, like waiting for video to show ?

can you pop 'o' to show codec info ?

curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"Input.ShowCodec","id":1}' http://192.168.2.44:8080/jsonrpc

will pop it up

want to see what aq and vq are doing.

Yes, it is hanging with the black screen.

Sorry, I am not sure where I am supposed to run the command. I have started a channel and i was able to run <myurl>/jsonrpc in browser and get an output, but not sure that would get you what you want.

Code: Select all

curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"Input.ShowCodec","id":1}' http://192.168.2.44:8080/jsonrpc
Needs to be run from terminal on OS X/Linux or putty on windows ... using your firetv IP address

That should bring codec overlay showing what audio/video buffers are doing

I tried running it several times in Terminal, but it doesn't show any output. I also enabled verbose JSON logging but that didn't do anything
