Path substitution for advanced users (expert level in settings)

Post by vlaves »

Hi,

would it be possible to define path substition for the MrMC Plex Client, so we can replace the http://... Links with smb://... Links?
That would be awsome, as MrMC on FireTV performs much better over SMB :)

Thanks again for you great support :)

not sure I understand, SMB already used smb:// urls.

Note that using an advancedsettings.xml does work, you just can't see on the ATV4 as xxx.xml files are folded into UserDefaults. For AFTV, it works like normal.

Plex is an http server. If you changed those links to smb then it wouldn't be using plex anymore.

Look here, it has what he wants (and what I was guessing the Plex integration was based off of).

I see, thx. Looks complicated :)

Right now, I see no reason for this, I'm not seeing any bandwidth issues using plex the way it was designed, with http/https links.

Should http/https become an issue, then we will look into the real cause rather than work around the problem via smb.

Not really an issue with http, just a bit better skipping foreward for example :) Was just a question :)
