Hi,
since one or two weeks, scrubbing in recordings of TVHeadhend does not work any longer. It will create a lot of artefacts, then it will freeze. You can then still go back with exit. When I scrub in old recordings, it will work. This seems to be more an TVHeadend issue, but everything works ok on macOS KODI. So maybe you can find out something.

Any ideas?

Not sure what changed, is it a new TVH version? Or did you change any settings?
We don’t use the same version of ffmpeg as Kodi, but if it works on other recordings I think it’s the setting/change on tvh side.

Hi,
I managed to find out more about the problem and even found a workaround. I am still posting it for others and maybe because it is something you can help me to find out more.
First, I installed nextPVR in order to check whether it is TV Headend related, finding out that it is not, it doesn't work with nextPVR as well. Then I thought the problem could be related to new recordings vs old ones. Maybe the stream is now transmitted differently. Which is true, but by chance I found out that this is true only for some channels.
So there is a high probability that the problem is not related to TV Headend, but either to Linux/DVB driver (not probable, as only on some channels) but more to a change in stream which is broadcasted and that the libs used to decode and display the stream are not recognising it correctly.
So I played around a bit with hardware acceleration options and when I switch off both of them, everything works like a charm. Even when it worked with hardware acceleration, there is some artefacts when the stream synchronises. With both options disabled, no artefacts, smooth scrubbing. Perfect.
So problem solved for me, but still there is some room for improvement. For the records: we speak about German TV, Provider Willy.Tel, Problems with Das Erste HD and NDR FS HH HD. No problem e.g. with ZDF HD and WDR Köln HD.
Best Regards,
Carsten.
