Could not connect to retrieve Jellyfin token

Post by dwilliamhouston »

Hi,

I have just downloaded MrMC and trying to connect to my Jellyfin server. I have tried both http and https and always receive the error message in Subject line. I have verified username/password. Is there supposed to be anything filled in the Shared folder field because I have tried everything else?

Thanks,

David

What version is your server? Try using Emby manual login to see if that works. Settings -> services -> emby

I am very new to this as well and I think I am having a similar issue.
I have the left the shared folder line blank as well, as I am not sure what to populate it with.
Server is running on an OMV5 setup via docker/portainer. I can access Jellyfin via Safari on my laptop on the same network without issue.
Could not connect to find JellyfinServerInfo is the error I got. Nothing about a token.
And I think it is connecting in some sense, because when I go back to the web browser on the laptop, and go into the jellyfin server dashboard, I see the "Living Room MrMC 3.9-7" listed as an active device. This is an Apple TV 4K, connected via WiFi FWIW.
Server is on version 10.6.4 as best I can tell.
I tried the using my Jellyfin credentials in the Emby manual login section of MrMC with no luck.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give. Appreciate the hard work you all put in. Great looking software.

I use MrMC almost exclusively for music (2 channel/multichannel flac). With the built in database I couldn’t get through a playlist without a pause/eventual crash. I’m guessing a buffer overflow issue since files are relatively large. With Jellyfin, playback even with 8 channel files has been flawless. I have the same issue with Jellyfin login not working properly. What’s strange is that “Jellyfin(O)-(pc name)-Music” shows up in the artist list but is empty. So, for now I’m using the Emby client in MrMc which works but it only sorts by artist. So, clicking on album/Songs takes me to artist and then albums show up under artist . Also, genre & year categories are missing. My regular M3u playlists still work but smart playlists based on albums are empty. Everything in Jellyfin on my server all show correctly by artist, album, genre. I realize Jellyfin is still much a work in progress but anything you can do to make it function like the built in MrMc database is appreciated.
