Problem is that if we can’t reproduce it, it’s impossible to blind fix it.

Fact that it works on Kodi is irrelevant here as we don’t have the exact same rendering engine as they do.

What would help is a log from the latest beta that @koying tweaked , exact setup on your side to try to mimic it here and a file that you see the issue with. Feel free to share those on support email.

If we can reproduce the issue , it can be fixed

Just to add, i changed from using the integrated Plex service, to Emby, and it's not skipped yet

So appears to be an integration issue with Plex / MrMC

interesting, we use the same (http/s) protocol to play both services. Its possible that there was an issue with how plex server serves the content or possibly some issue with the server configuration.

I think we have more Plex users than Emby, and if it was plex integration with MrMC we would have heard about it long ago.

glad you managed to fix it, even if it meant switching the servers

Don't know if this helps you but here is my setup

Plex and Emby dockers running inside unRAID (16 core 3950x, 32GB ECC RAM, 192TB storage and 4TB nVME SSD cache)

Cat6 ethernet everywhere
Unifi switch
Pioneer VSX-934 4k Amplifier
Nvidia Shield TV (6 in the house)
75" Sony TV, 55" LG OLED, 55" Panasonic OLED, 2 x 55" Samsung TVs

Nothing special or complicated about the setup really, so not sure what was causing the issue

Unfortunately its still happening. Watched some TV show episodes last night (just normal MKvs) and was frame skipping again (this is with sync display to content frame rate enabled too)

Setup Kodi last night and watched a 4k movie, normal 1080p remux and a couple of TV Shows. No frame skipping at all

It has to be a MrMC issue, but i don't know what else i can do to help you fault find. I don't think sending you a movie / tv show will help as its not the movie at fault.

I also found that Kodi doesn't have the same issues with passthrough being enabled (when you enable passthrough on mrMC it will cause massive audio delays and stuttering, and it has to then be turned off)

passthrough audio sync problems are not seen by me. and if they were common I think we'd see more comments on that.

Dont know if this helps but I recently had severe stuttering and audio issues due to "passtrough is IEC packed" being turned on (as this was recommended with SPMC if I recall correctly). After turning it off the stuttering was gone and audio back to normal.

Just to add to this, I've been experiencing this as well. I tried playing the video on the official plex client and playback works perfectly. I noticed that it happens with scenes that have a lot of movement. I'll upload a logfile when it happens again.

EDIT: I tried playing on Kodi with the PlexKodiConnect addon and playback works fine.
