Skip forward/back not working

I can’t get skip forward or backward to work either. Clicking brings up the normal progress Bar but nothing happens on additional clicks. It just seems to pauze in unpause the video. I am on 3.9.3 TestFlight.

- Video playback from NAS mode.
- Siri expert mode is not enabled.

If I turn on Siri expert mode, the remote behaves different. (Not my thing) An osd appears with play / skip buttons on the bottom of the screen. The osd buttons work. The remote is still not scrubbing, just pausing.

Update: I rebooted the Apple TV just as Action80 mentioned and now skip forward and backward are working. Strange.

Just on this the buttons only work like before only for the mythtv pvr frontend, the video playback via Emby still doesn't work.

But at least I can quickly skip over ads now

Mine is working fine again, too.
No idea what's the reason, maybe an app update.

I am also using the Emby client, perhaps that's a common denominator.
Yesterday I updated Emby server from 3.5.x to 4.2.1. Had to re-sync the Emby library (remove / re-add). At least after that, edge clicking was fine again. I hadn't tried it for a few days as I was on a business trip, though.

Strange thing is, when the issue persisted, it didn't work when playing normal media sources, too. The problem wasn't restricted to only the Emby client. No idea what fixed it, but I'm happy

I wanted to give you all feedback in order a lot of posts to this incident ticket here.

This is because I use MrMC with Apple TV4 HD now for more then three years. Backend: TVHeadend on Synology NAS. All works perfect.

Some weeks ago I purchased a new Apple TV 4K. With the same backend, the latest tvOS and the latest MrMC-Release (3.9.5) the functions "skip back" and "fast forward" are not working. This occurs by using the Siri remote (apple) and also using my harmony remote elite. After giving the order (with both harmony ore Siri remote) the cycle in the middle of the screens runs without any end. The video is sometimes "frozen" and suddenly the sound works while the video stands still.

I tested different skip settings (+10 sec, +30 sec...) but no solving has been given.

I did a debugging - the file has been uploaded (CXJ21.log).

It would be great if someone have an idea what happen. I am very frustrated because the posts with exactly the same issues has been ended in October last year and so it seems like I am "stand alone" right now

Hi Mikemrmc,

I'm still getting this issue every now and then. The quickest fix - for me - is to reboot the Apple TV via the settings app. After doing that, playback and skip forward / skip back is perfectly fine again.

As it starts to happen after a few days, I can only guess that it's somehow related to caching or maybe a player instance cannot be shut down properly... but what do I know

yes, I see the same thing sometimes and I just reboot.
