Testing MrMC 3.9.7 - Apple TV

Regenerate thumbnails from cached images is not working anymore with Emby stable server.

Reverted to 3.9.4 and 3.9.3 TF builds and notice now that all those builds were also affected.

emby server should serve that thumb to us, if its not then it might be that something has changed in emby API... which would not surprise me

I think something else is going on, because MrMC Touch 3.9.5 TF behaves correctly and shows changed cover of a movie, when “Regenerate thumbnails” is executed.

Only Apple TV version won’t delete and refresh cached thumbnails, when a movie cover is changed.

(Tested on stable and current beta Emby server)

I would still like to see the debuglog, might have some issues shown in there

The stuttering video on live TV if the info bar is active still exits. The live TV stops always after ~ 60 sec with an rotating icon in the middle, only a complete restart of the app helps for a while. Other clients like Kodi (Android TV) or the iPad client from TVMosaic working to the same time without problems.

That’s largely due to the fact that we are still working on it and nothing has been pushed in the TestFlight to address this issue... when it happens everyone will be notified to test.

One moment for the logs.

I narrowed the issue down, Apple TV is refreshing changed covers now, but isn't refreshing updated covers from the Coverart plugin in Emby. So movies where resolution has changed, coverart plugin gives those another frame and resolution indicator, while movie cover stays same.

iOS is also on "Emby" MrMC profile.

For your info, tested below scenario, which worked fine on tvOS and iOS, so I suspect those 3 contents items somehow got corrupt in Emby or MrMC, which a regenerate cached thumbnails doesn't recover.

Tested scenario:
- changed resolution of content by replacing 1080 versions with 720 and SD versions and vice versa, to force Emby coverart plugin to regenerate frames and resolution indicators >> Result OK on iOS and tvOS, all refreshed in MrMC with correct frames (HD/SD) and resolution indicators (1080/720)

So for the corrupt item Dark Waters, I forced a cover change by replacing original picture with other picture and now all is correct in MrMC on tvOS.

I know my workaround now (=change cover picture in Emby server) in case it happens again in the future.

Sorry that I'am answer in this thread, but I believe I have find out the reason for this problem. It could be that not MrMC is the reason, it is the network connection. I have found in the internet some informations about ATV with LAN problems. I'm using here a 1GB LAN connection routed with a TP-Link switch. With this connection I have repeatedly this problem. A change to a 100 MB connection does not help. The switch to WIFI seams to help.

Not sure if this is correct here, but I am on TestFlight 3.9.7. There where supposed to be mrmc GUI sound issues ? I always have the mrmc GUI sounds off so I didn’t notice. Now in this TestFlight there are mrmc GUI sounds. But I can’t turn the mrmc GUI sound off. I put it to never but it keeps bleeping
