I also would welcome compatibility with video only kodi 18 database, currently really missing this feature

FWIW I mainly use Kodi for music, so I'm hopeful that the Kodi v18 music database update comes soon.

Quick update - having Kodi/Mrmc in my car (via carplay) is the last bit of functionality I need before I can fully ditch iTunes/Music app. This is why I'm so eager for database compatibility with Kodi 18

The video database seems to be updated but I am still missing the music database upgrade
