I'll add my voice to this.

I purely use(d) MrMC as a frontend to my shared Kodi library. I couldn't hold back versions just for one device, but it would be rather nice to be able to use it again.

Hello,

I‘m new to MrMC ... and running Kodi 18 on several RPi devices, Amazon FireTV and Sony TV ... I would like to use MrMC on apple devices ... therefore it is necessary for me that Kodi 18 database is supported ... any chance to get this support soon?

Apparently it’s coming in the next update. There’s no ETA, though.

To be fair, the next release is currently in testing so they’re making sure everything works the way it’s supposed to before putting it out in the wild.

Video database is not complicated to bump to Kodi v18, however music database is very complex bump and will require a lot of core changes.

We are thinking of possibly doing only Video for now... thoughts?

Personally, I'd be fine with that. I only use my Kodi shared library for video, anyway.

The only thing I have to ask is, for those people who do use the Music library as well, would this cause them any syncing problems or would it just ignore music when using MrMC and them need to use a "pure" Kodi box to access music?

Video database would be in sync and MrMC can create music database in parallel to the one that’s created by Kodi
