TVOS BETA 13 6-> (constant lag / microstutter remux 4k)

Here's the issue about us installing tvOS beta 13 on our AppleTV4Ks.

1) tvOS beta 13 required xCode 11 (also in beta) for debug.
2) Installing tvOS beta 13 is a one way street on AppleTV4Ks. Once done, you cannot revert back to 12.4.
3) ITunes connect will refuse any submission for release if xcode beta is used to create it.
4) Having the release xcode and beta xcode installed on the same computer can cause issues as the clang compiler for non-xcode compiled code will be the beta one. So while one can compile MrMC using the beta xcode. Compiling depends for releases will use the wrong clang version. Which means getting ponked for a release.

It boils down to if I install xcode beta, my compile system is poisoned for releases. And that means, no 3.9.x releases until after tvOS 13 hits release.

So to test/debug on AppleTV4Ks, I'd have to setup another development system and get another AppleTV4K.

All clear, so I suggest those who have installed tvOS 13 beta on their ATV can report the issues, you collect the issues on a list for revision when your development installation is ready, is that OK for you?

The list is simple:
1) 4k borked
2) atmos borked

4K HDR with AVFoundation acceleration (without Video Toolbox) works fine under tvOS 13 beta 7.
Atmos: as I posted somewhere else, unless TrueHD is supported, it’s of little practical value, Neural:X is as good for me.

No offence intended, but why are you guys install one test version (TVOS beta) while testing another test version (MrMC TF)? It widely known that Apple breaks a lot of things while being on beta releases of their OS.

No offence intended, but why are you guys install one test version (TVOS beta) while testing another test version (MrMC TF)? It widely known that Apple breaks a lot of things while being on beta releases of their OS.

The first reason is the suspense of testing!
Secondly, I have other players which work perfectly on ATV tvOS 13 and LG WebOS to entertain me and my family.
Thirdly, even what is broken is not really serious and I can easily live with it, e.g. DTS Neural:X up-mix instead of Atmos; fantastic, TrueHD or else!
Finally, in fact I discovered the new capabilities of the native AVPlayer in tvOS 3 playing back 4K, HDR, HEVC, mkv material!

BTW: we are at beta 7, 8 is coming next week perhaps on Monday, I.e. very close to releas.

This is what development empties, break and repair cycles accompany development of every kind, nothing wrong with that!

As long as you cannot/do not switch the TVOS OS back and forth to review the SW (MrMC) it does not make sense in any way to report such issues. It might solve by itself while the new TVOS evolves.

And what is the MrMC supposed to do? Chasing alleged bugs referring to any TVOS beta over and over again? And then doing the same thing again once the final version is pushed out by Apple? Tampering around with 2 variables is inefficient. And even if MrMC team solves one of these issues - what will the next TVOS beta break?

So my first reply to you, wasn't about the tvOS beta install issue, but just a comment about general software development cycles were Devs CAN mess things up, when introducing new features that brake existing features...

Atmos playback is still broken in beta 8; situation is still the same with the other player which can pass through EAC3 atmos track by using the native AVPlayer.
