Opps, there was a packaging miss regarding atmos. tvOS 12.4 go released, along with a new xcode and everything was rebuilt except atmos... Was totally missed in testflight by everyone.
A new version will pop shortly.

I didn’t actually miss it, just thought it’s an iOS 13 beta hick-updavilla wrote: 13 Aug 2019, 20:57 Opps, there was a packaging miss regarding atmos. tvOS 12.4 go released, along with a new xcode and everything was rebuilt except atmos... Was totally missed in testflight by everyone.

hopefully that's the case and nothing needs changed for tvOS 13. especially since I'm running tvOS 13 beta now too.Everbrave wrote: 13 Aug 2019, 23:31I didn’t actually miss it, just thought it’s an iOS 13 beta hick-updavilla wrote: 13 Aug 2019, 20:57 Opps, there was a packaging miss regarding atmos. tvOS 12.4 go released, along with a new xcode and everything was rebuilt except atmos... Pardon my ignorance, but can you MrMC users confirm, that this software can bitstream audio on tvOS 12 and future 13 versions?maisun wrote: 24 May 2019, 12:07 Does version 3.8.1 support bitstream both True HD and Atoms (or only Atoms)??
I will need to take a closer look at it, if this proves to be true.

Re: Atmos
Personally, I don’t think it will need any thing beyond the new build, but if did, I’m sure the developers can easily make that change. All that aside, EAC3-Only Atmos is of little benefit. In my experience, if you have an AVR that can mixup to DTS Neural:X, will hardly miss Dolby Atmos. So, I’m not holding my breath.cosmoxl wrote: 14 Aug 2019, 02:46hopefully that's the case and nothing needs changed for tvOS 13. especially since I'm running tvOS 13 beta now too.Everbrave wrote: 13 Aug 2019, 23:31I didn’t actually miss it, just thought it’s an iOS 13 beta hick-updavilla wrote: 13 Aug 2019, 20:57 Opps, there was a packaging miss regarding atmos. tvOS 12.4 go released, along with a new xcode and everything was rebuilt except atmos... No, tvOS doesn't bitstream as in the traditional sense. No apps on tvOS can do it.
Multichannel PCM is what the apple tv outputs. But, Dolby (and apple on their device) has provided a way for Atmos metadata to be passed with multichannel PCM. That is what streaming apps use on the apple tv and MrMC devs are using it too.
For now the only form of Atmos that any app on apple tv supports is that with EAC3. Atmos with TrueHD is not (yet) supported.

My receiver will mixup using my atmos speakers to DTS Neural:X and a Dolby Surround. I generally use the Dolby Surround. Why do you prefer DTS Neural X?Everbrave wrote: 14 Aug 2019, 08:01Personally, I don’t think it will need any thing beyond the new build, but if did, I’m sure the developers can easily make that change. I guess it is a matter of taste; Neural X sounds "atmos-like" to me, kind of more distributed, less bass and the front-height (atmos) speakers are better utilised (on Denon X4500H).
