Random crashes while watching movie
Since recently I experience random crashes while watching a movie. MrMC returns to the Movie list. Then I can resume watching from the moment it stopped playing. This can happen like 10 times during the entire movie. You can understand that this way of watching a movie is quite frustrating

Correct. Movie just stops and I get taken back to the movie list. Then I can resume playback at the point where it stopped.

Nope. The interval between stops is different. Sometimes a few minutes, sometimes >30 minutes,...

Re: Random crashes while watching movie
Is it normal behaviour that MrMC in some situations can simply stop playing and exit abruptly to the movie list? If it is a network issue, I would expect stuttering?!

Not normal behavior. Stuttering only happen if time stamps for messed up.BanRay wrote: 04 Aug 2019, 14:55 Is it normal behaviour that MrMC in some situations can simply stop playing and exit abruptly to the movie list? If it is a network issue, I would expect stuttering?!
The only time the player will stop is if it runs out of local cache and can not refill it.
If your network/server burbs when the player is trying to read content from it, MrMC will re-try but not forever.
You have a network problem

Re: Random crashes while watching movie
Thanks for thinking with me!
Is it an idea for the backlog that somehow MrMC gets some sort of (basic) network testing feature?
And instead of simply stop playing content, first show a message what is happening? And/or write some meaning entries in the log so you can tell for sure what has happened?
Weird thing is that it is happening to me only since a few weeks. I don't know if tvOS 12.4 could have something to do with it. I certainly didn't do anything to the network
