Hi Koying
I enrolled to beta testing few days ago when I go to the app page in Google play store I'm registered as beta tester
But version is still 3.8-0, is that OK or it should be 3.8.1 ?
I still haven't received beta update on my shield tv

thanks

See above log for a new problem where MrMC on shield is accessing my local plex server through the WAN, causing internet usage. Plex and Tautulli show the IP address connection as an internet address, not local, and my router confirms traffic on my WAN interface.

I've also confirmed that the Plex app on Shield, and MrMC on tvOS do *not* have this problem. So, some regression in MrMC on shield. Thanks for looking into this.

Good news is that 24fps files now output at 24hz, not 120hz. However, 25p material still outputs at 50hz. No way to change that to 25hz since it's not interlaced?

I was worried that would happen :)

could you do

Code: Select all

curl https://<plexUSER>:<plexPass>@plex.tv/pms/resources?includeHttps=1
from terminal(or equivalent) and email me the output? feel free to blank out accessToken="XXXXXXXX".

The funny thing is there are no access tokens shown except for my folks' server, which I did hide.

Code: Select all

It's done, just a bit too dangerous for a point release, and needs testing.
It will be in the 3.9 serie.

anyone?
the reason I'm interested in this version is due to the fact I have one issue in 3.8.0.
I hope 3.8.1 will solve it before I post a debug log
after about 45 minutes the video (any video i tried) start jadder, after I pause and start again it is playing OK, till it happens again and another pause/play fix it

so, let me try to understand :)

"hera" is your server? on your network? I see that this server does not have the same public address as your players or "Desktop" server "185.21.xxx.xxx" vs "199.249.xxx.xx"

"Desktop" server is seen as your network and playback from that should be done on local network and not via internet.

"msgeer_desktop" is your folks' server, that should go over the internet ?

in the latest change, to speed up startup and eliminate any unnecessary server pings, logic is as follows:

- check if publicAddressMatches="1"
yes -> use LAN address, on "Desktop" that would be "192.168.2.10"
no -> check and use external address on "hera" thats https://185-21-xxx-xxx.bc6bc3c57e0e47b2 ... rect:23932"

"desktop" is the my only local server and my main one and the subject here. ;) It is the one that should be local but with this shield MrMC build is going over the internet. Whatever change you made isn't buggy on tvOS like it is on Shield.

ok, clear... in your paste(which I removed as it has your IP addresses) "Desktop" is identified as publicAddressMatches="1" which would have created LAN address to connect on 192.168.2.10:32400, but for some reason that doesn't match on shield

EDIT: the only reason this issue its not showing on tvOS is that we have not built tvOS testflight today, it was done 3 days ago without this change
