Hi all
I have share library between my PC and Apple TV, but once I try to do the same thing on my iPhone, the app starts scanning the content and creates duplicated entries.
I use exactly the same settings for MySQL database and the same path to my movies folder (SMB share). I've never had any issues to share it on the ATV's MrMC, but the iOS version just keeps adding the same movies I already have.
Thanks
--------------------------- EDIT ------------------------
I think I found the problem. For whatever reason, once I try to update content the app adds extra "/" to the file's path. So the only source I have looks like that: SMB://Server/Movies But every new scanned file's path starts with SMB://Server//Movies
At the moment I can't find any workaround this issue.
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

Re: [iOS] Shared library, duplicated entries
very odd, same code in both. are the source for both setup the same way ? ie, both smb, zeroconf, etc ?

Re: [iOS] Shared library, duplicated entries
After extensive digging through Kodi forums I've found the solution. Apparently I have something called "phantom source", which means, me or other user, accidentally added incorrect path to the source, which despite incorrect syntax, happened to work. The path stayed in the database and the app would scan through these folders even though the path itself wasn't showing in any source lists. According to Kodi forums, this happens when the source is being removed without removing DB entries (the app will ask you this question).
The solution is to add this unwanted source again (preferably without scanning the content) and remove it, this time agreeing to database entries removal.
Long story short, it's a user error not the app.
Sorry
------------------------ Suggestion -----------------------
Maybe it would be good idea to add in future releases an autocorrect for any incorrect syntaxes in manually added paths (double prefixes, quotations, slashed, backslashes etc).
Thanks

Re: [iOS] Shared library, duplicated entries
will look into qualifying source urls
