What is the build that is crashing? I installed 3.6.2 from the Play Store yesterday and it seems to be working fine (not crashing).

Ah I got the beta build, 3.7-0. I can move this to the TestFlight thread.

Yeah. 3.7.0 moved on to egl3, which is supposed to be supported since ages on android, but looks like the mi box (and most probably AFTV3 / AFTV cube, i.e. AML S905) doesn't like it.wesk05 wrote:What is the build that is crashing? Will look at it, had only time for diagnostics yesterday.

Thanks for looking into it.
Is there a way to separate the Testflight/Beta from the stable versions in the Play store (from the user side)?
Can I install stable on the Mi Box, and keep testflight/beta on the Shield?

Same here actually is surprisingly snappy, especially the FFWD and RWD.wesk05 wrote: 27 Jun 2018, 02:06 What is the build that is crashing? I installed 3.6.2 from the Play Store yesterday and it seems to be working fine (not crashing).
@koying, any chance to implement in MrMC Android a MPEG2 Software hardware decoding switching ala SPMC or LibreELEC ?
SD mpeg2 deinterlacing would likely then work on Mi Box with a bit of YADIF2X love.

Re: Mi Box Oreo - MrMC does not open
I requested AMC decoding of mpeg2 some time ago and Koying replied that it will be in 3.8.wrxtasy wrote: 28 Jun 2018, 19:02Same here actually is surprisingly snappy, especially the FFWD and RWD.wesk05 wrote: 27 Jun 2018, 02:06 What is the build that is crashing? Ahhh yes I keep forgetting MrMC is Kodi Jarvis based which still had AMLcodec. That would solve all deinterlacing issues.
The other requirement for Amcodec to show up in Jarvis was a r/w permission check of /sys/class/display/mode, which in reality is not needed on the Mi Box as it has broken refresh switching anyway.

yep, the reason for my request was 1080i hardware deinterlacing.wrxtasy wrote: 29 Jun 2018, 03:03 Ahhh yes I keep forgetting MrMC is Kodi Jarvis based which still had AMLcodec. That would solve all deinterlacing issues.

720x576i YADIF2X Software deinterlacing works if I disable "Allow interlaced Content"
