Please use this ONLY if you have downloaded 1.0.1 (151130.1928), version number can be seen in TestFlight app

please avoid posting "I would love to test" posts, lets keep this for testing only.

changes since last version:
- fixed DTSHD and TRUEHD playback
- set bob inverted as default auto deinterlacer, it has been tested as best
- ignore up/down keys when in full screen playback, avoids accidental 30min skip
- more siri remote tweaks, would love more comments on that

Sorry for being so quick:

- Tried a MKV with 7.1 TrueHD. Expected passthrough, but looks like the ATV is decoding to PCM. Yes, it works. But..... if you play a file with 5.1 DTS (or AC3 I guess) and have passthrough enabled first, the MKV with TrueHD has no sound. MP4s with compressed stereo (AAC, MP3) have no sound too. GUI sounds are gone too. Does this mean that the ATV4 is not able to bitstream 7.1 TrueHD or MA audio ?

- Fixed it again, by going to sleep and back. Then play file with TrueHD first, audio is there.

- The other bug with first playing a file with AC3 or DTS via passthru, then open MP4 with compressed stereo audio (MP3/AAC) is still there.

- Like the Siri remote tweaks. As you mentioned, if you swipe up and press the upper or bottom part, scrolling continues. Even better would be if it was some kind of kinetic scrolling, so the speed of the swipe determines the scroll speed, like on the iPhone or iPad. So then you also scroll without actually clicking up or down and keep pressing. Not sure if the touchpad on the remote is capable of doing that.

Yeh i've tested lots of my dtshd files and i don't seem to have a sound problem anymore thanks.
Glad you made it so you can't accidentally skip I did that alot watching tv shows.
It needs alot of finger work to scroll up and down a long list =/ seems to get stuck sometimes it doesnt register my touch i dont know if thats mrmc or apple tv lag
this is the best release so far though

how is the appletv setup for audio, auto or ... ?

true bitstreaming of 7.1 TrueHD or MA audio waits for a future version.

loekf2, samples of your MP4 with compressed stereo audio (MP3/AAC) would be nice. see other thread fro how to cut.

I'm using dolby surround mode.

I will make more samples, but it's close to bedtime :o

As for the remote, sometimes it doesn't seem to register my actions. In one case today I had to click the remote several times (actually pressing the button) to get it to register. I think I was trying to do a long-click to get a menu.

When I'm scrolling through a list of recordings, I occasionally get the left pop-out menu coming up when I'm just trying to move to the next item. I realize this is probably because my swipe down is going to the left a little, but it seems too sensitive.

Any chance the repeat speed can be adjusted when scrolling through a list by not lifting the finger at the end of a swipe? I frequently overshoot my target and have to swipe up a couple of times to get where I intended to go.

Remote feedback
I'm using both a Siri Remote and an old white plastic Apple remote. Have to say, at the moment, I much prefer navigating MrMC with the old Apple remote.

With the Siri Remote I find that often swiping up and down isn't recognised properly in MrMC - sometimes it works fine, other times it's like it's ignoring me. Similarly clicking on the Siri remote is a bit hit and miss (but fine in other apps on the ATV 4).

I also get the accidental 'swipe left' thing opening the side menu as I try and scroll up and down file lists.

Is there are a short cut equivalent to 'o' for codec information?
