No passthrough after latest FireOS Update 6.2.7.7

Hello,
As reported in thousands of threads on the Amazon, Reddit and Kodi forums, the Fire OS update 6.2.7.7 has broken audio passthrough.
What is MrMC's plan? There are already some unofficial patches that at least make Dolby Digital possible again, but no DTS for example.
According to Amazon, an update is also being worked on? I haven't had sound in MrMC for months, it would be so great if it would finally work again...
