Please use this ONLY if you have downloaded 1.2.1 (160120.456), version number can be seen in TestFlight app
please avoid posting "I would love to test" posts, lets keep this for testing only.
changes since last version:
+ dynamic TopShelf, displays recently added movies and tvshows
+ fix play/pause with libdsm
+ fix play/pause, jump to tvOS home and back to auto resume playing
+ fix un-shuffle crash
+ bump ffmpeg version
+ fix podnapisi.net subtitle search
still to come, maybe in next testflight
- add setting for recently added to ignore file creation date, last added first in recently added list. AKA DateAdded

Hi amet,
Hope you can help me with this? I recently had to restore my atv, at the request of Apple Support, to trouble shoot issue. Not realizing, when I was on the call with them, TestFlight is now asking me to redeem the invitation code. I have tried from the original invite email and it states that I have already accepted.
Thanks
Steve

as soon as it becomes available in testflight you will have it, at the moment nothing is in testing and thats why you see nothing in there

It's out already.
For the topshelf to work, do you have to allow scanning of a folder on a NAS ? So far I usually select the exclude fron scanning option, because I don't see the point for adding metadata.
Top shelf is empty for me, despite playing a couple of files since I installed the new Testflight version.

Topshelf is not populating any images for me.
I have a row of rectangles with 3 dots inside and when I select any of them the name of the movie appears under the rectangle, but there is no image of the movie poster in the rectangle.
Clicking on any of the rectangles takes me to the info screen for that item with "play" as the default action if I press the button on the remote.

Like I mentioned above, I don't have any images at all. I added some files to my NAS last night. Played some video files.
Have to add that Netflix' didn't show initally any topshelf images as well. Only after playing some files. Maybe my ATV is playing up.
It sounds like you've to allow for meta data fetching, otherwise it won't work. I would be in favour that if you opt out of meta data fetching (scanning ?) MrMC still shows the most recent 3-4 shows/movies found in the most recently opened "files" folder under Videos and displays the keyframe (the thumb art extracted from the file, you e.g. see when the controls are shown in the bottom of the screen). To my opinion hitting an image in the topshelf should automatically play that file. No need for the info screen.
But maybe Apple has UI style rules for this. In case of Netflix you're also directed to the info screen for that show or movie.
Question: what does the ffmpeg bump means ? Should I check some video files ? H.265 files ? High bit rate H.264 files ?

Nothing serious, just noted that there still wasn't an icon for x265 in the library in Amber.
I think that got buried in the previous post...

I'm noticing that sometimes when I click on a movie in the top shelf, the screen just goes light gray. Menu doesn't get me out of the gray screen but eventually crashes me back to the main screen where I end-up inadvertently going into the first app on my ATV main screen. It seems to happen if I haven't recently refreshed/scanned inside of MrMC. Most times the shelf works fine.
