Background playback stops when pressing home

I might be the minority here but I am so used to Kodi on x86 uninterrupted background playback while browsing. I noticed MRMC stops it when you press the menu button on.m the Siri remote.
Is there anyway to change reheat setting so it doesn’t? I know you can do it with an addon but you can’t install those on MrMC. Any help is appreciated!

There's a setting for that BUT as soon as another app wants the audio, MrMC has to stop playing. Continuing to play is an automatic App Store review rejection. Note, this only works with audio content, not video.

Yeah no that’s fine, I understand that. I just want background playback within MrMC. So where/what’s the setting that I need to change?

Settings -> system -> Input -> "Use Menu to stop video playback"
I think that also hits Music.

I have a weird problem related to this matter now. The background playback based on your suggestion doesn’t stop, I.e it works fine but the issue now is when I press the apple menu key to say browse for media and for whatever reason if I change my mind and just want the menu controls to go away by pressing the menu button, it just exits the app entirely rather than going full screen first, which is how it used to behave. Any idea what is causing this?

smells like a bug in tvOS focus handling. Which skin ?

I believe so. The issue presented itself in the ones I listed for sure. I don’t remember trying opacity. Is that skin different somehow?
