Has there been a change in the way movie names are handled? I'm using Plex. The movie '71 (apostrophe 71) doesn't seem to display correctly in the latest testflight
Edit - not testflight related, same in 3.0.9, apologies.

Anyway, with regard to interlaced detection, I'm seeing that my TV recordings from ABC's Designated Survivor (720p) are detected as interlaced, bottom field first. Is this an incorrect detection or is the answer to this more complicated that I want?
The answer is more complicated than you want

Interlace and flavor detection is best handled during active decode. Only at that time will you get reliable information. Containers lie, and interlace flavor can change on the fly. Think commercial breaks, if audio can change, so can video format and/or interlace/flavor. Generally the info from
MediaInfo can be trusted BUT it's not 100 percent and even it can be fooled.
The only way to truly know is to demux and decode each frame and keep track.

ABC broadcasts are 720p, no doubt about it. It should be detected as progressive. Unless (and this is why I asked if the answer were more complicated) the system is trying restore the original frames before it was transmitted as 720p. That's why I asked if this was getting more complicated. Anyway, I don't want to derail discussion of the new skin unless you deem this important.

home items will update every time we enter home, if you have a lot of plex servers, or your
MySQL database is slow it will take some time to refresh... but it is triggered every time you enter home
All I have is my connection to my iMac via
SMB.
ok, but its still might take few seconds to refresh... speed of the refresh depends on the server/wifi and other factors... look in debug log for "MrMC[21755:669289] Debug Print: CHomeShelfJob::UpdateVideos() - Running HomeShelf screen update" that indicates that we are refreshing home screen items
Are we talking about the same thing? I'm talking about In Progress items on the main MrMC Screen. I have several items in that list that are no longer in progress - they are finished - but they are still in the list an hours later. The only way to refresh that seems to be to quit MrMC.
For what its worth, I searched for HomeShelf update in the debug log and it was last run at 9:01am. It's 11:06am now.

yes, we are talking about the same thing... home screen should have refreshed every time you enter it, that includes when you stop the movie.
what database do you have setup? plex/emby/
mysql/local mrmc database?

Local database. Just connected to my
SMB share on my iMac.
FYI, I'm looking at the TV Shows In Progress.

fixes: skin.opacity
fixes: home shelf items, default to both if possible. Shows RA and in progress on skins that support it
fixed: plex, missing movie info

First, a nice update
Now a few points on my part.
1. The language is here and there in English and not in German (Example: Movies - In Progress Movies = Begonnene Filme / Sidebar - Recently added = Kürzlich hinzugefügt)
2. Unfortunately, you can not add your own background (why?)
3. Long press the OK button with the TV does not lead to any function
4. I would gladly display the info of the TV channel by pressing the OK button (example: resolution, sound format, what is running etc. as it was with the MrMC skin)
5. It would be nice if you could get the poster view back in Movies and Series

1. we will look into setting up a translation service
2. will look into that
3. explain more please, where are you long pressing? on home screen?
4. we aimed at very simple OSD, no overcrowding with information.
5. as above, very simple skin as default for first time users to easily setup. too many options and all hell breaks loose
