Finally! Ok this set up worked for me.
Apple TV 4 - tvOS 9.1
Xcode 7.1.1 with 9.1 (13U78) SDK from 7.2
Yosemite 10.10.5
Using the writes up from TheJmc and starphone2015 found on page 1 and 5. Thanks Guys. Thanks for your help to davilla.

Fixed provisioning profile error. Then I got a /bin/sh error. I looked at the log and found it was a problem in KeyChain. Went to Keychain Access and found that there were to revoked certificates there and one good one. I deleted the 2 revoked and rebuilt and it was a success.

That was odd tho because I made a new Apple ID just for Xcode at the beginning of November. And the 2 revoked certs were from long before that with the same Apple ID. Either way, deleting them fixed it.

Try to clean the project before building MrMC once again.

That didn't help. But what fixed it is going into keychain access and deleting all my certs and letting them reappear. as soon as I did that the build succeed

Do you choose to build for 9.1 in MrMC Xcode project?

I've built it several times keeping 9.0 by default and it worked straight away.

I'll give it a try with 9.1 setting.

remember, depends is built 9.0 min.
see tools/darwin/Configurations/App-TVOS.xcconfig, its in xcode project list.

The xcode build is heavily controlled by .xcconfig files, some of which are created during the main configure. For example, App.xcconfig.in, while App.xcconfig shows in xcode project files, any changes there will get wiped out on the next configure.

After I fixed the certs it compiles fine now. I took the 9.1 SDK from 7.2 and put it in 7.1.1 and that fixed every other problem I had before the cert problem.

And yes I am running 9.1 on Apple TV.

Side note: will there be a need for a jailbreak since we can sideload apps?I know we still don't have root access but still?

You don't need a jailbreak, you can sideload direct from Xcode. Before Xcode7, that was not possible. Just sideload and enjoy.
You are still in a sandbox but seriously, what does anyone need from outside, nothing.
