The present Confluence is fine for start. But it would be nice if later on there would be a skin Like Quartz was available. Makes it look like native Apple.

Just to let you know there are also people with other priorities.

If I could choose, I would much rather see native Apple TV (TVML) interface with native Apple player for MP4s and KODI player used for other formats. I personally don't care about fanart, PVR or add-ons. I'm pretty sure there are many others like me but the problem is - how can expect them to use MrMC and hang around here when the current release is much more suitable for hardcore XBMC users? If it would be the other way around would you be using it?

What I'm trying to say is - sure it will attract mostly XBMC users as it looks and feels like XBMC. However, what I really don't really get is: If I'm happy with XBMC look and feel then I would be frustrated with the rest of Apple TV interface, so why would I buy it with cheeper and/or better alternatives available?!? And, on the contrary - If I'm happy with Apple TV look and feel, then I would feel "on another planet" entering MrMC.

And before someone attempt to call me names, let me remind you that I've been using XBMC since 2008 and made a several skins for it.

Using NFS, adding video directory will only display the parent directories on the NAS, then I am unable to select anything to add.
I'm a little confused that the app is not asking for username and password to the NAS in the first place?
I have to add a new video source. you can embed username and password in the path, ex smb://username:password@myNAS/movieFolder
Well, I gave up on NFS for now, but it works great with SMB. Guess I'm not a Power User :)

Great app anyway. I really like the flexibility.

I am on the same boat. I don't really need fanart, PVR, skin custom, etc. if you compare MrMc with Kodi on other platforms without taking account of hardware and OS platform, Kodi on other platforms is much more powerful than MrMC. Hardcore XBMC users would prefer to stay with Kodi with other platform.

so why do we need MrMC?

simply because we love ATV and Apple ecosystem. that is an advantage over Kodi on other platform. if MrMc does not have any of ATV experiences (look, feel, touch control), then it would lose this distinct advantage.

just checked out Quartz on youtube. it is like apple but man it is old. it was popular back in the days of ATV 2 which is like 5 years ago?

time to move forward with the new apple TV UI.

@normanfox:
I don't care what it is called. I used Quartz because it has a Apple feel. Sio2 loods more like native Apple but has disadvantages.

In short, call it what you want but it Neede to have aan Apple lookand feel. Naming is unimportant.

PS: aTV2 is still very much alive.

now clicking on the touch button (to select a video to play or to bring up OSD during playback) does not work anymore. I have to use old remote to select and play a video or to display OSD during playback.

anyone has this issue.

ok this is a bug. if I enable Zoom under Accessibility, clicking on touch pad does not not work in MrMc.

I have used Plex now since ATV4 released and I must say its more beautiful than MrMc, but it's not good right now. its terrible :(
So I'm happy to get back to "Kodi"
Subtitle support, DTS sound, no irritating screen refresh every time i stop a movie. And it's a pain to navigate in when you have a lot of movies.

So I like my menus of text and some nice pictures of my movies. But make more categories please. I don't want the kids movies in my movies. Let us configure our own menus.

And best of all. MrMc is wife friendly.
Cannot say that about Plex when subtitles is needed.

While I do agree that the original AppleTV 4 remote is difficult to use with MrMC, it works perfect with older remote and my Harmony.
I think this is a much better first version than other ATV4 media apps.

Some people who are not used to XBMC/Kodi may find interface foreign and funny looking compared to AppleTV 4 look. This is the way it is and it is a faithful port. People who have used for years will be right at home. I would NOT want MrMC changed to use AppleTV interface - it is fine the way it is.
