Observation here: The buffering issue only occurs on TV channels with multiple audio streams. Almost all of my channels provide 2. I found two channels with only 1 = no buffering issue. One of my channels provides 3 audio streams = buffering issue much worse than with only 2 audio streams.

Next step: I created an audio stream filter on the server for a channel which was unwatchable due to constant buffering. Now that this channel receives only one (AC3 2.0) audio stream the buffering issue is gone. This didn't do the trick for the channel with 3 audio streams though, where it makes the situation much better, but buffering still occurs there. So this might still be something else...

I'll stop trying to find a solution. Limiting the audio streams served to the clients in fact helps a lot. But I guess this is only because it reduces the bandwidth needed by that TV channel. "Slow" movies/tv shows work well, but as soon as there is more action involved (e.g. sports) bandwidth goes up and buffering appears again.

I unplugged my ATV for now and plugged in that old RasPi running Kodi v16 again. This is sad, because it is much slower than the ATV which makes GUI interactions feel sluggish on it. Something I completely forgot about. But at least I'm able to watch TV without any issues. I'll gladly test any new builds of MrMC 2.x as I like the app a lot and this issue has to be resolved rather sooner than later.

PS: As posted above and confirmed by hronas the buffering issue is also present on other Kodi v17 clients (I tested the OS X builds from yesterday and the one from 13th of march; both have the issue). So this might be a bigger problem which has to be resolved by Kodi developers)

Great Davilla, looking forward for this one :)

HoIger - Just did the same, created an audio filter for MP2AUDIO (My channel had two streams as well) and now the buffering is gone. :)

Maybe I'm not doing it right, but I can't get a solid stream even with an audio stream filter. It's just a small enhancement on my setup.
Looking forward to the new build.
