Using MediaPortal Backend, and PVR addon.
Livetv buffering appears fixed for me in this build. Almost instant playback, maybe 1 second buffering till stream starts playing. No pausing or re-buffering.
Watched TV from various channels for most of the evening. The AV sync issues I previously reported seem to be fixed.
Only anomaly I noticed, was that playback of livetv just stopped once after 30 mins, but seemed fine after selecting the channel once more. Has not done it again, so maybe slight network glitch on the LAN.
Will continue testing.

Re: tvOS Testing 2.0.0 (160318.1155)
Timers definitely worked for me using MediaPortal PVR addon, but ONLY in the very initial MrMC version.
Subsequent versions up to and I including the current 1.6 freeze MrMC in the timers screen, where it displays more advanced schedule options.
I had assumed, that the PVR changes were due to new series recording support in Kodi Jarvis, of which existing PVR addons had not yet implemented.
For whatever reason, that was my primary reason for wanting to TestFlight MrMC 2.0.

does Kodi Jarvis show the same issues ? We should be in sync with Javis regarding pvr binary-addons.three6zerocool wrote:Timers definitely worked for me using MediaPortal PVR addon, but ONLY in the very initial MrMC version.

edit: actually, I did just get an error trying to record a show currently airing. however, recording another channel currently playing started recording just fine. also, setting a future program to record on the problem channel worked. so, I don't know. will email you the log.davilla wrote:@cosmoxl, nothing like the above for you ?

Re: tvOS Testing 2.0.0 (160318.1155)
Kodi running either isengard or Jarvis, has always worked fine for scheduling TV recordings on my PC'c. (with Mediaportal)
The first time scheduling stopped working for me, was the 2nd release of MrMC. (1.1?)
Scheduling also has always worked on my Raspberry PI running isengard, and now Jarvis.
Why it stopped working on MrMc... who knows, the MrMc developers can likely answer that.
But whatever it is, has affected multiple PVR addons, as reported by users on this forum.
v 2.0 certainly has fixed this scheduling bug, but just why other platforms were unaffected, I can't say.
(was pretty frustrating tho)
The only architecture I have not tried scheduling on is Mac, but I have a Mac Mini still running isengard, so could try it on same MediaPortal backend I use, and see if it exhibits same scheduling issues.

Re: tvOS Testing 2.0.0 (160318.1155)
Ok, purely for interests sake. Just trying Kodi Isengard Mac version, using Mediaportal PVR add-on that came with it.
Scheduling works fine, just scheduled a couple of shows.
Something tells me, that the scheduling lockup bug in MrMC 1.1 thru 1.6 is something unique to MrMC codebase.
Oh well, scheduling is seemingly fixed now(for the per add-on I use), thats all that really matters, and I have to say that MrMC is becoming my favourite client for watching (and recording once more) TV and movies.

Lets keep discussion to the 2.x series. The 1.x series defiantly had code sync issues with upstream code base.

Re: tvOS Testing 2.0.0 (160318.1155)
I'm still seeing some issues with pausing a video and putting or letting the AppleTV sleep. This was discussed in the release thread for 1.3 here: http://mrmc.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6& ... t=10#p2573
Specifically, these 2 things are still an issue in 2.0 yet in that thread they were marked as fixed:
3. put AppleTV to sleep (hold down TV button and choose sleep). Wake AppleTV up and you're on the home screen. MrMC had crashed upon waking up.
4. leave AppleTV to go to sleep on it's own (in my case 30 min). Wake up AppleTV. Video is still paused in MrMC. Press play and MrMC crashes. BUT NOW in 2.0 the video plays for about 5-10 seconds and then freezes. If you press Menu, after a delay it backs out to the video list. The freeze could be the delay in waiting for the hard drive to spin up but the video never resumed after about 10 seconds.
I am using libdsm. SMBUp has been removed from my Mac running El Capitan 10.11.4 beta. Let me know if you want me to get the logs.
