Can it be a buffer problem? What should the buffer be in MB and buffer mode?

No it is only 1080i. What can I do to not have it stutter on 1080i interlaced TV? In video settings I have deinterlace auto. It has worked fine before.

hieyemtim wrote: 10 Feb 2019, 02:23 Hello Koying and amazing coding masters!! Just updated to 3.8-0 on the nvidia shield. Atmos, DTS X, DTS-HD or Dolby True HD dont work. They just play in stereo. Before Atmos wasn’t really working. It would go back and forth from stereo to Atmos on our Pioneer Elite receiver. Every one of these Atmos files works perfectly with SPMC using the raw pass through option. In MRMC I’ve tired with IEC and without. With 3.8-0 all Atmos DTS-HD etc files do not work. They all just play in stereo. I’m glad I have SPMC to use for my files for now but I would really love to help solve this in MRMC. Thanks for all your hard work!!!
Update. I disabled pass through, restarted and enabled pass through and now audio is coming in as PCM, but I don’t think it’s True-HD Atmos. I have IEC and Passthrough ticked. On SPMC the receiver would display Dolby Atmos. Now on MRMC I see PCM. I don’t think it’s truly Atmos because on Nature’s fury and the three Atmos demos, the height speakers sound blurred with the surrounds. It’s distinctly different from Atmos in SPMC. I directly compared with SPMC where the objects are much much more prominent through the height speakers. Can’t wait to get this working properly so I can finally fully migrate from SPMC to MrMc. Truly appreciate all your hard work!
Update 3. It seems pass through is broken in 3.8-0. If I have selected 2 (numbers of channels), tick the boxes for enable pass through, pass through is iec packed (unchecked doesn’t work either), Dolby digital ac3 capable receiver, Dolby Digital plus E-Ac3 capable, and DTS capable receiver it will only come as stereo. If I up the channels it comes in as PCM. Hope all this helps. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Three problems I'm seeing

1) If I have AMC surface enabled with allow interlaced content *disabled* I see AMC(s) is still used for mpeg2 1080i and the like. https://paste2.org/Hnd8aGmg Upon further testing I see that the "allow interlaced content" setting does apply correctly to h.264 material.

2) Display refresh rate adjustment doesn't obey the setting "on start/stop". If I use AMC decoders (surface or non-surface) on my DVD rips (those work with AMC surface now, thank you) it'll start off seeing them as 29.97fps, and outputting 59.94fps. But, after a few seconds some part of the process causes MrMC to see the file as 60.606fps and outputs 60fps. The variable frame rate DVDs (Star Trek Voyager) then look horrible during the film frame rate portions. It should go with what it detects at start, 29.97fps, and stay there as the setting implies. https://paste2.org/GeNsgKD2

3) TrueHD/Atmos tracks will not passthrough but DTS-HD Master/DTS:X does. While playing a TrueHD test file I turned off passthrough and PCM sound did work. Turning back on passthrough resulted in nothing input to my receiver. https://paste2.org/K9Jg54yA

edit: turning off IEC packed allowed TrueHD to play but it had moments of dropping out.
