Almost perfect. I still think it would look best without the leading zero and just a space in between season and episode like this:
S1 E8
Just a small adjustment and I think this aspect is ready for release!

We have complaints already on the naming convention

Complaint is a big word. We are in a TestFlight aren’t we ? I just think it feels wrong, the space is just “there” and breaks a flow, the season and episode are linked; Why would there be a space in between ?Also the normal naming patterns have alway been 5x02 or S01E05 or s01e05 (last one is which I prefer).
And the use of the 0 is needed to properly sort episodes in programs like finder, explorer etc. S01,S02...S10 will sort, so it’s also the proper way to go because it’s just works that way on computers.

I meant no offence , it was not aimed at your comment... more to point out that we broke something and it should be reverted
I think S01E05 is a good fix, I was never crazy about s01e05... but S01xE05 also doesn't feel wrong as it breaks S and E , feels easier to read

Amet, no offense taken at all. S01E05 is good for me, but I agree S01xE05 has more of logical break between season and episode. I have no problems with either of them. If I had to choose between these two, it would be S01xE05.

Sorry all, after seeing this change go live on my TV Screen I will admit the space was not the best solution. Sometimes ideas just don't work as hoped despite best intentions. Thanks amet for keeping an open mind and trying something new and to Waltman for the feedback. I suppose it's not a total loss as I, like amet, wasn't crazy about s01e05 and we are improving upon that whichever avenue we take.
The leading zeros seem a little too busy and a little too "techie" imho for lack of a better term. I have never really liked the look of them on the big screen in a home theater as it seems out of place. We don't display time as 01h 05min. As mentioned this formatting may be of benefit in sorting in a computer setting but that doesn't necessarily mean the media player front end has to display it this way as well.
Two of the most popular streaming services in the world, Netflix and Disney Plus, with their highly regarded UI's use the format of S1: E5. How do you like this option? It keeps the flow from left to right and provides a logical break between season and episode plus many user's would be familiar with it's look. Here's how it looks in practice:
Anyway I am glad we have an open community here where we can throw ideas back and forth. Good points have been brought forward for the options.

Climiu, we are in a TestFlight trying to improve something we like so

for participating.
Didn’t amet try the S1: E2 option in the previous TestFlight ? The TestFlight from yesterday came quite quick for me. Disney plus and Netflix use this Episode format in a slightly different way,
- D+ with episode information in a more tekst based screen, so you are seeing more spaces - Netflix or on top of a picture which masks out the space, so you won’t notice it
Again I don’t think this will work on the plain grey mrmc home screen, because the text will just be “there” again. And because of the space, in two parts S1:_E2 beneath the series poster, breaking a flow.
You could try it as S1:E2 though. Or go with amets option S01x02. I will have to see it on my screen to let you know if it’s working.

Thanks Waltman. Last Test Flight used S01:E02.
S1:E2 is a good suggestion to try. I actually quite like it. Looks cleaner and seems to check off many of the boxes we have been discussing. Emby uses this format and it looks pretty good there.

I am going to go with Climiu on this one and vote for S1:E12
