EDIT: Ahh, I see it
Android ARM 32-bit API level 21 (API level 21). Added in API level 21 but I bet their implementation was borked. This will get fixed in the next release.
So is this because of the older version of fireos I'm running?
Any work around in the mean time?

no work around or would have mentioned it.
What about updating my fireos? Now that I have MRMC I really don't have to hold back the updates that let me easily get SPMC & Kodi.
Thanks again.
yes, you could update. I thought that for some reason you wanted to stay at your current version.
There were a couple of reasons to hold back the updates but MRMC addressed the biggest reason. I'll probably do the OS update over the next day or so.
Thanks for all your help.
I've got some bad news. I updated my firetv to fireOS 5.2.1.1 (551203220) and AC3 passthrough is still not working (DTS is working). Passthrough works in both SPMC & Kodi.
I'm attaching a log with event logging, debug logging, & compenent specific (audio) logging turned on.
While the log was running I played a couple of minutes of a DTS encoded file and then switched to an AC3 encoded file. I let the audio drop in & out a couple of times and then shut down MRMC. I hope you see something.
Just saw this thread over on the kodi forums. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=289735
it saids fireOS is API22 and AC3 isn't working. That is consistent with my findings.
I guess I'll have to stick with SPMC until the next FireOS update is released.

Nah, they are wrong ac3/api22 using non-iec format (what audiotrack wants) works fine on my firetv2 and nvidia shield. There is something else going on. Maybe related to encoded bitrate.
