Video Mods

Post by Grumpy1954 »

Every time I update the TV library I have a new entry called video mods. To the very best of my recollection I have never installed, downloaded, or otherwise acquired this, nor do I want it. It claims to be something from TV Tome, something of which I have no knowledge whatsoever. I have tried to delete it, but it reappears every time that the TV shows library is updated.

Any suggestions as to how it can be permanently banished would be most welcome.

Where do you have that? Nothing can be installed on MrMC, no addons other than the ones we package will run.

Debuglog after you scan the library please

I'm not sure if is a genuine add-on, truth to tell I don'tknow what it is. It appears on the TV Shows library page. Clicking on it brings up a list of folders, all of which relate to stuff that I have in general videos, so non-TV/movie clips.

Found this on Wiki:

Video Mods was a television series that aired on MTV2. This show turned video game characters into musicians. It was created by Tony Shiff of Big Bear Entertainment in 2003. A pilot aired in Dec 2003, having been underwritten by Electronic Arts. It was a form of branded entertainment, as the pilot featured characters from their games SSX3, Sims, and Need for Speed.

I have attached a photo showing the TV screen.

That generally means that you have a folder with non TV show content in the TV show source.

Follow this to setup your sources correctly, https://wiki.mrmc.tv/index.php/Naming_Video_Files and/or move that folder out of the TV show source so it would not be scanned in incorrectly.

If you move it out, you can create new video source for it , set content to “none” and in context menu add it to home. That would show this source on the home screen and allow you to watch the videos in it that are not scanned into a library.

Thank you.

I've been through all the TV library files and moved a couple that looked a bit suspect, despite the fact that they appear on TVdB. That seems to have cured the problem, and also has had the additional benefit of me realising that there were a number of duplications, which have now been removed.

Thanks again
