Hmm. The Plex app using native or "new" video player doesn't seem to have problems with 4k HDR. Amazon and Vudu don't have problems with 4k HDR/DV either.
Perhaps it's just the "little" guys that aren't privy to apple's changes.

Beta 8 is out, is the issue persistent?cosmoxl wrote: 21 Aug 2019, 15:11 I wouldn't count on a new beta fixing it. All other apps seem to work just fine still. MrMC seems to be the problem.
the problem exists only on remux, no problem on files reencoded with handbrake and a debit of 15Mb/scosmoxl wrote: 21 Aug 2019, 18:36Hmm. The Plex app using native or "new" video player doesn't seem to have problems with 4k HDR. Amazon and Vudu don't have problems with 4k HDR/DV either.

I returned back to my ATV 4K installations and made the following observations:
OK, as far as I am concerned, I will not mention another player by name, in fact, I used to use the term “another player” for any but MrMC, if it annoyed you. My personal opinion is that it doesn’t harm to know what the completion is doing, but it’s your business and you know it better.davilla wrote: 24 Aug 2019, 16:43 I retested 3.9.1 under 12.4 using libsmb2. No Issues seen, with 4K or atmos.
If there are issues seen under these conditions, please create a new thread for tracking. This thread regards tvOS beta 13.
In addition, a reminder that this is a MrMC forum. References to plex App are starting to get annoying. Stop it please. We know there is some issue the tvOS 13 beta, they will get resolved in due time.
All clear, so I suggest those who have installed tvOS 13 beta on their ATV can report the issues, you collect the issues on a list for revision when your development installation is ready, is that OK for you?davilla wrote: 24 Aug 2019, 19:14 Here's the issue about us installing tvOS beta 13 on our AppleTV4Ks.
1) tvOS beta 13 required xCode 11 (also in beta) for debug.
2) Installing tvOS beta 13 is a one way street on AppleTV4Ks. Once done, you cannot revert back to 12.4.
3) ITunes connect will refuse any submission for release if xcode beta is used to create it.
4) Having the release xcode and beta xcode installed on the same computer can cause issues as the clang compiler for non-xcode compiled code will be the beta one. So while one can compile MrMC using the beta xcode. Compiling depends for releases will use the wrong clang version. Which means getting ponked for a release.
It boils down to if I install xcode beta, my compile system is poisoned for releases. And that means, no 3.9.x releases until after tvOS 13 hits release.
So to test/debug on AppleTV4Ks, I'd have to setup another development system and get another AppleTV4K.
