Re: Waiting for a hard drive to wake up
Just wondering, did you enable the alternative new SMB library under system => services => SMB (if I'm not mistaken ?).
For me, SMB problems with waking up NAS drives are gone since I use this new SMB library. You still the UI freeze for a few
seconds, but things stay responsive enough and no funny errors anymore.

I haven't been able to get that to work, so I couldn't tell you if it helps with this situation. Look in this thread for discussion on SMBX:

So who can I send the log to? I've been sitting on it for days.

Re: Waiting for a hard drive to wake up
Hi guys,
I am pretty sure that the Wake-On lan funcionality would be great, but some network HDDs (not necessarily NAS per say), just like for example the TimeCapsule from apple, do not need this.
I know that specifically for apple time capsule the Wake function is totally useless (I tested it with KODI) and it only caused more pop-up windows to appear until the content was actually available.
I believe that what it needs is just a bit more time (just to compare instead for 3 seconds it needs 5 seconds) to start responding and working.
With KODI it is a simple fix, because it was possible to adjust the timeout period for file access (<curlclienttimeout>) and the number of retries (<curlretries>).
I wonder if this could be adjusted with the hardcode in MrMC by the developers, and I also wonder it this could solve some of the issues described in this tread?
I did some testing:
My Time capsule was asleep, I tried to access the files, it gave me the error, showed 2 pop-ups. On second click I accessed normaly.
Here is the log file:

I increased the default number by 5, haven't had any issues so far!
