Nevermind. "Update libraries on startup" seems to be the culprit. Update incoming...

Does that somehow affect the auto start of the plex plugin? I do not use airplay and do not have update libraries at startup on.

If you mean that mrmc started, but plex extension was not autostarted, that is fixed as well

Updated to beta 3.9.0 All is OK so far

@koying , the plex addon only works for the first try and after that MrMC will not startup at all and crashes to the Android home screen. Only way to recover is delete cache under apps>MrMC

Watched an episode with the latest build.

Two good things

1) 25hz video output at 25 hz.

2) no problems with video becoming choppy even though I was using advanced timing.

Cosmoxl, interesting. My Lg c8 tv becomes choppy (using nvidia shield) with advanced timing on and fine with it off, yet my Sony 900f lip sync is way off when I have advanced timing on but plays perfectly with it off.
