official kodi remote app appears to require manually inputting AppleTV ip address:8080 to control it.

doesn't seem to show mrmc ip/appletv without that manual configuration.

Kodi remote app seems to suggest kodi port is 9090?

further experimentation:
name
ip address : 8080 / default of 9090 and hit the red save button. if it works, you'll expand to the left and see a list of categories, with remote control at the bottom giving you (mostly) controls for most of what happens.

i have changed the remote control port to 9090 in MrMC on ATV, then Kodi remote was able to find it.

Did work on my iPhone directly, however on my wife's iPhone it did not work. Had to add the IP manually.

No clue why :?:
