TV playback not smooth [SOLVED]

I purchased MRMC for shield and appletv 4k and when I stream TV from my Mythtv backend on AppleTV it's not as good as on Shield. There is noticeable jerkiness. Also it take several second (3-5) to start streaming

Both devices are connected to the same switch and are playing any content including 4K without any problems (other than TV on appletv).

Turn off the FFMpeg debug setting. It's filling the log with spew and I can't see what's going on.

For ref, this is playing from mythtv pvr addon.

Nothing in log regarding player, are you using the same deinterlacer on appletv4k as shield ?

Both are set to Auto (deinterlace setting)

Looking at the codec info while playing videos, there are few differences:

Shield
fr:59.940, dc:amp-mpeg2(S)

AppleTV
fr:29.970,dc:ff-mpeg2video

Auto is for the deinterlace detection. The shield using AMC(s) won't give you a choice of deinterlacing method as it's internal. For the apple tv you'll have an option for deinterlace method. Try both yadifs and both bobs to see what works best.

I found this older post viewtopic.php?t=1156 where you suggested to use bob inverted. That made huge difference.
