Re: Dolby Vision

I'm trying to play an mp4 I found of The Matrix that has Dolby Vision in the second stream of an mp4 file. Is there a way to make this playable in mrmc? Unfortunately MrMC can only playback dolby vision from single layer video files. Currently there is no public software available to create these t...

will this app/program be released for OSX also?
Nope, but you could just run win7 in bootcamp quick and it would work fine.

Re: Dolby Vision

Why I reencode with less bitrate is to save some space on my NAS. I have done 20 reencode since handbrake started to use cpu+gpu acceleration when encoding and it works pretty well except for mp4 Dolby vision. Your program works on original untouched movies and plays fine on LG OLED B7. I was using...

Re: Dolby Vision

one more that reports 48i as framerate and the result file is 0 byte. so that's twice now you're not using a full mkv remux :p if the m2ts is 4x the size of the mkv, the compressed mkv will clearly not work. how are you making these mkv files? if it's a direct rip of the uhd-bd, it will be within a...

Re: Dolby Vision

When I tried the original m2ts file it worked to make the mp4 file. But Apple TV4k can't play it without stuttering and TV does not go into hdr mode. Using "codec info" shows cpu going nuts at 294% The file works when playing it on Shield TV. attached info pics it's too bad ATV 4k can't play it. th...

Re: Dolby Vision

Getting wrong framerate error reported should be 23.976fps but reported as 48i? and the created file is 0mb . So it seems like it's not working. I've never encountered this before and I've made so many mp4's already. could the mkv mediainfo be corrupt? you could try running it through mkvtoolnix to...

Re: Dolby Vision

So after enough testing, I can now safely say the dv mp4s made from mkv's in fact DO WORK just fine :) I've ran my program on like 10 of them and they all show dv and look and play amazing, with better contrast in the darker scenes that hdr10 misses. I'll update my app and take mkv out of testing an...

Re: Dolby Vision

Done and Done! It now says to make sure it's a DV file before you even start, but if you don't heed that warning, it also checks the demuxed tracks and if no dv layer is present it prompts you and exits instead of trying it anyway with mass errors. hopefully it's totally done now! :D https://bit.ly/...
